About the event
Deer, Elk and Moose hides are uniquely valuable in producing superior meterial in drums, traditional snowshoe lacing, solid core in knife sheaths, and can even be used as a dry storage option for these hides to be tanned onto buckskin leather at a later time. (only participants registered for all three workshops in teh series will be guided through the entire process from start to finish)
Keeping the art of traditional tanning alive in an increasingly chaotic world has become my passion, that not only reduces waste but also creates something magnificent while honouring a life in the process. Fostering skills that connect us to the finished product, can be handed down through the generations again, if we teach and learn from eachother.
